I started in the entrepreneurial space and spent $10K for a membership in a group which was a combination of learning how to pitch for funding and networking with undercover investors. That was a lifetime investment, so I went to several of their events over the next ten years. It taught me a lot about capital and the blueprint for building multi-million dollar companies, so it was worth it. But, because it was structured for “unicorn” type companies with multi-million dollar 3 to 5 year exit strategies, it didn’t really work for me. I’ve also invested in pitch academies and having a producer read my first novel for notes on its viability as a film. That cost $100 and the pitch training was free. The biggest cost was time (15 years). The biggest takeaway from this video was how closely aligned it was to my experiences in the broader entrepreneurial world.
