Leaders and leadership
Hello guys, I hope you are well Today I want to pop up with a simple but important post. Today I was on shift and when I started it this morning, all the team thought, "It's gonna be a very tough and hectic day." And we were all right. I'm just getting used to how things work in my ward, so for me when shifts are more chaotic it is really difficult to handle it. But.. I approached my shift positively, inspired by all the team. When it was time to wrap things up at the end of the shift something wonderful happened. The manager came to me and to each one of the staff saying "Thank you for all you have done today!". And all the tiredness just went away. I felt a sense of being part of a great group. We all did our best today, and when someone recognised and appreciated what we all have done... Well... For me that's leadership. We have often talked about leaders and leadership in this community. What happened to me today gave me the chance to learn what being a true leader and a good team means. Has it ever happened to you guys?! Have a lovely evening Take care ❤️
My train reading for today
Shout out to @Samantha Gounden for this beautiful book! This is a MUST to read book for all Internationally Educated Nurses who have moved abroad recently or are about to move, but it is also a good book for Leaders who work in a multicultural environment to better understand their IENs. Thank you Samantha for this great work

Nursing pain: the furnace within. HB Ep.8
I may not have been as present on LinkedIn or in this community lately as I would like, due to some important projects happening behind the scenes that all of you will benefit from, but please know this: I am always present for nurses! I’m deeply grateful for this podcast and for the incredible support of Kimberly Maurer BS, LPN, not only for co-hosting the Hierarchy Betrayal podcast, but for the way she consistently shows up during the week: answering comments, connecting with nurses who want to get involved, and holding space here on LinkedIn so this conversation stays alive. I also feel incredibly blessed to know two remarkable nurses who are using their voices to give power and visibility to nurses everywhere. Through Kimberly, I had the honour of getting to know Ashley Scott, LPN, her work is inspiring, empowering, and goes straight to the soul of nursing. Truly. I cannot wait for this episode. What’s coming this Sunday is something rare and extraordinary. Make sure you’re there, be part of the conversation, because honestly, this is going to be revolutionary! you can jooin us on linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/events/7422384806308528128?viewAsMember=true or by clicking the event on the calendar. We will waiting you next Sunday @ 14:00 GMT
