📚 Next Week’s Live Lesson Line-Up – 19th Century Lit & Language Focus
We’ve got another fantastic set of live lessons next week, designed to build confidence, improve analysis skills and help students understand exactly what examiners are looking for in both AQA and Edexcel GCSE English. 🧪 Wednesday 6:30–7:00pm Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde – The Theme of Mystery and Tension In this lesson, students will explore how Stevenson creates mystery and tension throughout the novella. We’ll cover: • How mystery is introduced and developed • Key moments and quotations linked to tension • How to analyse Stevenson’s methods clearly • Links to AQA and Edexcel assessment objectives • Opportunities for students to contribute and practise ideas This is a key theme that appears regularly in exam questions. 🎄 Wednesday 7:00–7:30pm A Christmas Carol – Marley and the Ghosts: How They Help Scrooge Change This lesson will focus on Marley and the three spirits, and how Dickens uses them to drive Scrooge’s transformation. We'll cover: • The role of each ghost • How Dickens presents change and redemption • Key quotations and how to analyse them • How to build strong analytical responses • Direct links to AQA and Edexcel exam requirements ✍️ Sunday 5:00–6:00pm English Language – Analysis Skills (AQA and Edexcel) We'll cover: • How to analyse language and writer’s methods• How to explain effects clearly • How to write stronger, more detailed responses • Skills that apply across both AQA and Edexcel Language papers This is essential preparation for both mocks and final exams.
