🥁🥁🥁 (drum roll please) 🥁🥁🥁 Community Name: Moms New to Fitness! 🎉 After a lot of thought and brainstorming, I’ve decided to change our name from Mommy Mat Time to Moms New to Fitness. My hope is that this new name reflects the gentle accountability, encouragement, and welcoming energy we want every mom to feel as she begins (or restarts!) her fitness journey. 💪💗 I’d love to hear from you— 👉 What does this group mean to you?

Who is this group for? 💃
This group is for moms who know they need to exercise but struggle to make it stick. Maybe you already know what exercises you need to do, but you’re not doing them. Maybe you’re overwhelmed by health issues or the demands of everyday life. Or maybe you simply know that accountability would help. The goal here is simple: show up for yourself. And if you miss your goal, that’s not failure—it’s a chance to get curious. Instead of shame, we ask: What was the barrier? How can we hack our environment or systems to make it easier next time? 🌟 What barriers do you notice that keep you from getting to your mat?

Why I created Mommy Mat Time 🩷
I created Mommy Mat Time because I know I need to exercise—and I was struggling to make it happen. My pelvic floor therapist and I talked about all the exercises I should be doing, but whenever she asked how it was going, my answer was always inconsistent. I’m not naturally a “gym person,” and exercise has never been part of my lifestyle. At 35, postpartum with three kids, chronic fatigue, hip and low back pain, hypermobility, and possible perimenopause, I realized something had to change. What inspired me most was when my therapist shared that she simply goes to her mat every day. Some days it’s strength work, other days restorative movement—but the key is showing up. That conversation planted the seed. This group is my accountability system—and a place for anyone who shares the same challenge of showing up for their physical health. This isn’t about telling each other what exercises to do; it’s about supporting each other in getting to the mat, hacking our everyday environments, and building consistency. 🌟What brings you to this group?

Welcome to Mommy Mat Time!
This group was created as an accountability tool. Like many other moms, I struggle to get to my mat and actually do my exercises—for all kinds of reasons. My body hurts (hips, low back, all the postpartum things after three-kids), and I’m navigating chronic health challenges, sudden weight gain, hyper mobility, and suspected perimenopause too. It’s a lot, and I know I need a major lifestyle change. That’s where this group comes in. It’s my accountability system—and I’m opening it to anyone else who needs one too. If you struggle with getting on your mat and being consistent with exercising, this community is for you! This is a space to: - Stay consistent with daily mat time, even if it’s just a few minutes. - Share the tips, tricks, and hacks that make getting to our mats easier (like setting out your workout clothes the night before). - Collect knowledge about health and exercise that supports us in showing up. The goal isn’t perfection. It’s simply to show up, day after day, and build a foundation no one can take away. I’m excited to see what happens when we do it together.💕
