We talk often about creating a high status IG page but not enough about comfort content. Comfort content that a lot of people will think is the real “us” or the most authentic in terms of who we are as people.
I think it’s key to mix in accordingly with the proper ratio of typically one piece of comfort content for every 8-9 displaying status. This is to “take the edge off” some of the high status content (whether it’s preselection or not) and make us seem like we’re actually attainable as men.
I always use the example of Drake. It’s almost like Drake consistently posting pictures of his Grammy Awards or shows on stage. At some point, it’s like we get it Drake… you’re an incredible performer. We don’t need to see the next trophy all the time. In fact, it’s good if we see you with your dog or with your mom or someone else to make you more relatable.
We’re obviously not on that level but we can still show glimpses into our personalities as well as other value we offer while not necessarily having the same WOW factor that some of our high status content delivers.
Examples of comfort content can include: you and your pet(s), gym content, you with family, you with your male friends who aren’t of high status, close up shot where you’re the subject of the photo, you participating in one of your hobbies (like playing an instrument), etc.
Keep in mind that this content should still be well produced (great lighting, clear image, high quality photo, good editing) while still being a good change up for your feed on occasion.
