Hi!
Happy to be here! I am a yoga teacher and meditation is a huge part of yoga. Pretty much anything else that is done in yoga is meant to prepare for meditation.
I started meditating many years before, I can't even tell, when exactly. As someone with a very scattered mind sometimes (ADHD), it was a difficult path. For the most time I was doing guided meditations only, now I have found a way to meditate deeply on my own, and that really brings me to the next level.
Also, I relaxed a lot about the quality of my meditations, as there is no such thing as a bad meditation. Even when I doze off, or realize that I was trying to solve a problem for 10 minutes, instead of calming my mind, I am OK with it. Just taking the time to go inwards, no matter what happens there, is valuable and an act of self-love. It also always calms me down, so the effect is there, even when I think, I had just a session with my monkey mind bouncing around in my head.
At the beginning of this year, I had the urge to deepen my knowledge and practice of yoga philosophy and meditation. So, I am grateful to have the opportunity to be in this community and be able to learn and practice with others.
