Hey folks! I am new to vocal editing and was wondering what is everyone's preferred method for controlling the dynamics of vocals before compression?
The method taught in music production 101 is clip gain automation, which works well. But I was thinking if I can get the same results through riding the fader and then bouncing the track?
I was also wondering if plugins like Wave's Vocal Rider has its place in speeding up the process? I was told by someone who works in the industry that many professionals (especially the younger ones) forgo manual clip gain automation in favour of these plugins. Which made me curious if quality was sacrificed in an effort of saving some time?
