Please help. What is/was your strategy for sound collection?
Again and again I keep running into the same issue - endlessly searching for sounds during creativity flow. Auditioning 200 snares and scrolling through presets and samples does not help the momentum. More and more this makes sense to me to have a collection of sounds prepared before producing. In recent Produce-A-Ton, Dane showed his collection of recorded sounds in Sampler menu. Now I’m eager to know whether ther’s like the best strategy for building my collection. What was your strategy? Did you organize by: Genre? Element (kicks, snares, basses, vocals)?Emotional character? Texture (warm, digital, dusty, aggressive, soft)?“Go-to” sounds that always work for you?

I'm a little bit confused!
Good afternoon, or morning everyone. I don't post here at all often but when I get the chance I love to read the posts from others, and enjoy the sense of community. To be transparent, I have recently been diagnosed with AuDHD. I don't think it's recognised in the US and has only been recognised here in the UK fairly recently. It's a combination of autism and ADHD. It's been helpful to have the diagnosis in order to understand my learning style, what I struggle with and what I don't. I say this because I may ask a question that is totally obvious to everyone else, or of no consequence whatsoever, so hope you will bear with me. I started TRE and went through the mastering section. It took me for ever due to various circumstances. In that time it was changed. So it threw a bit of a spanner in my works, but I've dealt with that. I have gone on to the mixing course, which has not taken me half so long, but that has also changed while I've been going through it. This has caused me some confusion since I like to get everything in the right order or I can't learn. Thankfully, I write notes on everything so I can refer back to the old program whilst going through the new one. The old course does not exist any longer as has been replaced by the new. The new course has some improvements, though I'm still learning the concepts. There is something I am a little bit confused about and forgive me if it really isn't a thing, but I can't quite understand it in my neurodivergent brain and maybe somebody would clarify it for me. The old method (according to my written notes, as it is no longer on line), starts off by defining mixing, bouncing files ready for a mix, and setting up a session. The new one starts with editing. Not a bad thing, since editing does come before mixing. Then it goes into frequencies, dynamic and other tools, and lots of exercises in between. On section 14 it enters the foundation first method. It appears that at this stage the organising and set up of the session becomes a thing. My question is, did it come before then, and if so, where did I miss it? I have to be organised in order to make sense of things but I want to do the course in the right order. Is there a lesson before then that goes into the organisation details? My question is not how to organise, as I know how to do that, but where did I miss the lesson on it if it came before section 14? And if I didn't miss it, how did people go on doing all of those exercises without doing it and why didn't it come before? I know this may sound a little pedantic to normal thinking people.
