Advice!
As I get closer and closer to expecting my 3rd Daughter, I have wanted to get as much advice as I can. What are some tips or advice you guys have for new dads? As well as what helped you the most with helping your wife through postpartum?
Hydration… how much is enough?
Now that it is way hotter outside water is super refreshing and we find ourselves drinking more. But is just water enough? The quick answer is no. If every time we are drinking water we have to go pee every 15 mins, our body is hardly absorbing what we are putting in at all. That’s where electrolytes come in. Electrolytes like salt magnesium and potassium have incredible benefits and at least 70% of us are not getting enough. They help bring the water into our cells and help us feel and keep us more hydrated. What’s your favorite electrolyte powder or drink? 💪🏻

Mindset July 2024
This week the topic is mindset. When is it time to give up? We have all tried and failed many times at many things, at what point do you sit down and say, “Okay, I’m done.” When it comes to your health and fitness journey there are several things that could happen to get us to this point. Injury, feeling run down, not having time. All of these things are a factor, and for some of us, legit reasons why we should quit. But what does it mean to quit? What happens if we give up? Why does it feel like sometimes this is the “easiest” option? In the moment when everything is falling down around us, we natural look for an easy escape. We are programmed to find and seek for comfort. Our minds scream for us to stop. It’s too much. I don't need to do this. “I have already done enough.” These are the constant phrases that run through my head. But then, I think about why I started in the first place. Why am I really here? In this gym? Am I here to go easy? Am I here to go through the motions?… No. I am here to show my kids that no matter the challenge, no matter how hard it is in the moment, you can accomplish what you want and more. If I give up, what does that show my family? That it is ok to live a mediocre life? That it’s ok to live paycheck to paycheck? No. There is more to this life than that. Conquer your mind in the gym, control what you put into your body and the world will become what it truly is. A tool for you to prosper. For your family to thrive. It starts here. So give up if you want, just know you are hurting more than yourself. If you’re ok with that, fine. But for us that are here. We choose to push. We choose to fail, over and over again until we reach what we truly want and deserve. For ourselves and our family.
Burpees +1
@Zack Marting I wanted to have this discussion with you here in hopes that it may help others as well... As you know I've been stretching then doing burpees every morning & have been adding 1 per day. My goal to begin with was to have a well rounded workout in as short amount of time as possible. I've definitely succeeded on the well rounded part and have noticed a difference in all the following areas: shoulders, arms, abs, thighs, calves, cardio. Tomorrow morning will be 150 days in a row, so 150 burpees. I've varied my sets from 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 per set. I'm now running into a few issues... Between stretching and burpees I'm now over 45 minutes. At some point I know I'm going surpass the point of diminishing returns. I also believe that I'm now not giving my body enough time to recover, because my shoulders are stiff on the 1st set and on every set after 100, the last few of each are difficult on my shoulders. Can you please address: - What is happening to my body by using this structure? - How can I implement something else that is time sensitive but still produces results? - If I'm going to be over 30 minutes per morning, is there a way to get better use/results of my time? Appreciate you brotha 💪🏻
