Write something
Time to write
I don’t write. Is the reality of the situation. I wrote as a teenager. Voraciously. Short stories, songs, poetry, screenplays, ideas for novels and sweeping, epic series. I studied Creative Writing alongside Film Studies at university. And then, I just stopped. No real reason. I just didn’t write anymore. For as long as I can remember, when people ask me the questions “what would you do if; you could do anything in the world / you didn’t have to work for money / you won the lottery…?” I always said write! And yet I wasn’t writing. I think I built it up in my mind so much, that if I went back to writing, and didn’t get published, the weight of that failure would crush me. And so I didn’t write. To put off, what I started to fear was the inevitable failure ahead. I’ve done a lot of work on me lately, on my self-esteem, my self-worth, my conditions of worth, etc. and what’s come out the other side, is someone who is ready to give it a shot. Not to get published, not to become “a writer”, not to get rich (ha!), but just for the love of the craft. For me, it’s time to write. And I can’t wait.
Food is one of the most sensory experiences we have
... and one of the hardest to write well Hi, I’m Gwynne — my community is called the Skool of Food Writing. My work comes from years of award winning writing, publishing, and shaping stories around food that actually connect — not just describe. I’m especially interested in that gap between what we experience and what we’re able to put into words. Inside my community, I help people develop a clear, confident voice and turn their ideas into publishable pieces — from blogs, feature articles to cookbooks. I also offer a VIP option where I work with writers privately to refine your work in detail, and share paid writing opportunities as they arise. Quick one: what’s a dish you’ve experienced but never quite been able to describe? Drop it in the comments — I’ll respond. Writers Academy...
Writers Academy helps us grow And gives us confidence to show That every story has a place And every writer has their grace Some come in scared and full of doubt Then find the words to let it out Some come in with books half done Or dreams they thought they could not run Some come in with goals so big But need a little help to dig Through all the fear and all the noise To finally trust their inner voice Because we all have things to say And Writers Academy lights the way It helps us learn and helps us see The writer we all want to be. Hope you all have an amazing and blessed Sunday brothers and sisters. Stacey Brooks Thego2writer
