Thank you!
A useful self-editing rule before you send your manuscript to an agent or editor:
Many writers think their character is clear. They think the tension is strong. They think the stakes are obvious. Sometimes this is true, but sometimes all of that exists only in the writer’s head, not on the page. A good self-edit asks: Can a stranger feel this from the page alone? 🤔 In other words, if someone who knows nothing about your story, your intentions, or your characters reads this scene (whatever scene in your book), will they understand what matters, what is at stake, and what the character is feeling without needing extra explanation? A stranger cannot fill in gaps the way you can. They only have what is written. So this question pushes you to see your work from the outside, and to notice where something feels clear to you but may still be invisible to the reader.

I'm not quite there yet, but these are excellent pointers. Thanks!
A great writer once said...
Margaret Mazzantini once said that a writer must move through the world like a radar, catching fragments and turning them into characters and stories. What moves me most is the next part: she says she has never lost the childlike impulse to tell stories. That is where many real stories begin. Not in technique first. Not in strategy. But in that early, almost sacred place where wonder, memory, and feeling are still alive. "“Literature allows you to withdraw into yourself. You become like a radar, catching everything, then you step away from the world, shut yourself in a room, and give back what you have picked up. Writing is a marathon. An artist lives with their senses wide open, like a seismologist.” Margaret Mazzantini. This is very close to what I feel as a person and author. Please feel free to share your emotions about it :)

Lovely, wise post. Thank you.
MOST PEOPLE LOVE FOOD. DO YOU?
They cook, try new recipes, and share meals with friends — but when it comes to putting that experience into words, they get stuck. They post something online, maybe a recipe or a photo, and then… nothing really happens. No audience, no traction, and definitely no income. What most people don’t realise is that the difference isn’t the food — it’s the writing. When you know how to describe food properly, structure your ideas, and write in a way that actually connects with readers, everything changes. Your content becomes something people want to read, share, and even pay for. That’s exactly what I teach inside my Food Writing Academy — how to turn your love of food into writing that can genuinely make you money.
