Can you handle the truth about what's going on?
If you can’t close $5K+ retainers… It’s not because you’re bad at SEO. It’s not because of your process. It’s not because of your results. It’s because no one fully believes you. That might sound harsh. But it’s the truth most agency owners never say out loud. You don’t have a skill problem. You have a proof problem. And right now, it’s getting worse. Because we are in a full-blown trust recession. Clients have been burned. Overpromised. Underdelivered. They are more skeptical than ever. Which means they are not just listening to what you say anymore. They are verifying it. Before they ever get on a call, they are: • searching your name • checking your site • reading reviews across multiple platforms • comparing you to other agencies • looking for anything that signals credibility By the time you get on Zoom… They have already made a decision about you. And here’s the real issue. Most agencies think they have proof. They don’t. They have: • case studies • testimonials • ranking reports But here’s the problem. So does everyone else. None of that makes you stand out. None of that creates certainty. It just makes you look like another agency saying the same things. So What’s actually missing? For most agencies, it's your own High-Ticket Proof Stack. Something that makes a prospect instantly think: “These people clearly know what they’re doing.” Something that shows up consistently no matter where they look. That’s what creates certainty. And without it… You are stuck explaining, convincing, and defending your price on every call. Later this week we are going to walk you through what aHigh-Ticket Proof Stack actually looks like… …and how the agencies closing $5K to $25K deals are structuring it so clients are already sold before the conversation even starts. Talk soon, Brian and Mike Maps Liftoff | Local AI Visibility Systems P.S. We’re opening up something next week that shows exactly how to build this into your own business. More on that soon.

Important Video + Coming Soon?
For 20 years Mike and I have helped over 5,000 agencies get clients ranked at the top of search and more importantly, maps. But something is happening. Clients are ranking #1… …and the phone is not ringing like it used to. Why? Because we have quietly moved from a search economy to a recommendation economy. I explain what that means in this short video. Watch It Here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1flc1vazzqY&t=9s Now for the fun part. Over the next several days we are going to show you something we have been building behind the scenes. It is designed to solve one of the biggest problems agencies are facing right now. How do you prove your value and help your clients win in a recommendation economy where rankings alone are not enough? More coming this week. Brian and Mike Maps Liftoff | Local AI Visibility Systems P.S. If this sounds interesting, comment below "behind the scenes." If we get enough replies we may even do a case study about how we just closed a $49K client using this.

Welcome to the Community. This is a place for agency owners and marketers to get better, together. Whether you’re optimizing a client’s Maps listing. working on your own business or launching your own local SEO service, the goal is the same—progress. These rules are here to protect the focus, culture, and value of this community. 1. Be Kind. Always. Kindness isn’t optional—it’s the foundation. Respect others’ time, energy, and perspective. No trolling, flaming, or disrespectful behavior. 2. Help First. This community thrives on people who are generous with their knowledge. Share what you know. Answer questions. Celebrate others. 3. No Self-Promotion. 🚨 InstaBan Offense 🚨 No links, offers, DMs, or service pitches unless approved by Brian or Mike. If you’re not sure, ask before posting. We’ve got eyes on this. (This is about SELF-PROMOTION, not sharing needed resources. A link to software when someone needs help is fine, We will even run a PROMOTION Thread Each Month if people would like that) 4. Disagree with Respect. You’re allowed to challenge ideas—just don’t make it personal. No name-calling, no ad hominem attacks. Debate tactics, not people. 5. Stay on Topic. Keep conversations focused on SEO, Google Maps, local lead generation, systems, and agency growth. If it doesn’t help the mission, it doesn’t belong here. 6. No DMs Without Consent. Don’t use this group to pitch in private. If you’re reaching out to someone, ensure it’s permission-based and adds value. (We have had a few that have joined JUST to prospect; we are trying to stop this to promote open and free sharing) 7. Protect the Culture. If you see spam, shady behavior, or something out of alignment, flag it. This group only works if we all protect it. 8. Wins, Fails, and Progress Are All Welcome. Your mess is someone else’s breakthrough. Share your process, not just your polished wins. We all grow through transparency.
GBP
I have a client that we are looking to partner with for a percent of his business in return for marketing. He wants to open up three branches in UT in three cities that are realitvely close together. We need to spin up some GBP’s for him but here my question. He does landscaping, fencing and contractor builds like decks additions bathrooms etc. Can we do a GBP for contractor, landscaping and fencing or do we need 9 GBP’s, 3 for each city?
Why Clients Are Losing Trust in SEO Agencies
Most local SEO agencies aren’t losing clients because their rankings are bad. They’re losing them because the world around those rankings has changed. For the past 20 years, the entire local SEO conversation was simple. Rank higher. Get more clicks. Get more calls. But something subtle has shifted. When someone needs a local business today, they’re not just checking one place anymore. They: • look at Google Maps • skim reviews • check Reddit or forums • ask ChatGPT for recommendations • read AI Overviews • compare multiple businesses In other words… People no longer trust a single signal. They trust patterns across multiple sources. And when your client shows up in only one of those places...even if it's ranking well...it creates doubt. Not because your work is bad. But because the decision environment has changed. This is what I call the Recommendation Economy. Businesses aren’t chosen because they rank. They’re chosen because they show up consistently across the places people research and compare options. And the agencies who understand that shift are going to have a massive advantage over the ones still optimizing for a single channel. Because the real question clients are starting to ask isn’t: “Are we ranking?” It’s: “Do we look like the obvious choice everywhere people check?” With @Mike Clay
