🗓️ Daily Discipline Journal — Day 12 Becoming 1% Better Every Day
6:05 AM — Woke up and got Ibrahim (my eldest) out of bed.Left for the masjid; jamaat starts at 6:30 AM now.Our Qari sahab’s tilawat is very old-school, but the masjid is close and we can reach in two minutes by car.Walking is not an option these days — Islamabad winter mornings are brutally cold. Came back home and had an egg sandwich my wife made.Left again to drop the kids at school — today was Isbah’s first midterm exam, and Ibrahim and Hamdan’s exams start Friday, In Sha Allah. Returned home around 9 AM, had breakfast properly this time and watched an episode of Salahuddin.Slept at 10 AM, woke up at 12:40 PM, got ready in 10 minutes, and left for the 1 PM Zohar jamaat. Came back home briefly, then left again for school — mainly to pick up my laptop and jacket before collecting the kids.Reached home around 2:15 PM, had a quick brunch (porridge), and left for office at 2:45 PM.Reached by 3:30 PM just as the Asar azan started.Told my office boy to grab my bag because I was heading straight to the masjid for jamaat. Got back to the office around 4 PM and finally started the work day. First, followed up with Atiq on my Upwork intro reel — had him make a few minor changes.Meanwhile, I handled multiple client follow-ups, pending payments, and prepared leads for an Indian client. Also watched a few videos on mental mastery — honestly helping me a lot in self-grooming and emotional control. Work continued on and off, and by the time the Upwork intro video was finalized, I uploaded it immediately.Shared it on LinkedIn, and Alhamdulillah, people loved it — got comments and appreciation. Everyone left the office, but I stayed behind.Lately I’ve been leaving late intentionally; before, I only spent 5 hours in the office. Now I’m trying to stretch my day so I can manage more and build stronger momentum. Signing off at 10:33 PM, writing this journal before heading home.Dinner with the kids and my wife awaits — though the kids might already be asleep. One thought that stayed with me today:How can I use my communication skills inside this community? With almost 19 years of experience dealing with local and international clients, I want to help people and also earn through this skill on Upwork. If there’s a way to serve others, guide them, or build something valuable, I want to explore it.
