As if English isn't hard enough, they make it so confusing at the same time! If the early bird gets the worm - why do good things come to those who wait? Why is it called a "Building" when it's already built? Do stairs go up or down? Why do we call them "apartments" if they are all stuck together? Why is the time of day called "rush hour" when the traffic is slow? Why is it called "shipping" when it goes by truck and "cargo" when it goes by ship? If you describe something as indescribable, haven't you already described it? How does a sponge hold water when it's full of holes? When you get out of the shower clean, how does your towel get dirty? If you drop the soap on the floor, is the floor clean or is the soap dirty? If cinderella's shoe fitted perfectly, why did it fall off? If a fly loses its wings, do we call it a walk? Why does quicksand go so slowly? If you're not supposed to eat at night, why is there a light in the fridge? Why do we call it a "hamburger" when it's made of beef? Why is the pizza box square when the pizza is round and the slices are triangles? As if the grammar and pronunciation wasn't bad enough!

Yesterday my husband asked me why I wanted to learn English.Somehow I didn’t know how to answer him.I’d just say that’s probably my hobby. You don’t always need a big reason to do something you enjoy.Still,I do want to learn to speak it as fluently as a native speaker .
