Yesterday we celebrated not only Easter, but also World Cosmonautics Day! π 65 years ago, the first man β Yuri Gagarin β went into outer space. To mark this date, Iβve put together a small collection of jokes and space oddities. I hope you will enjoy it! π§βπβ¨ π Space Life: Funny & Awkward βGood night, or good morning?β On the ISS, the Sun rises and sets 16 times a day, so astronauts live by GMT. But one rookie forgot to reset his watch and fell asleepβ¦ right during a communication session with Earth. The crew commander later said: βNext time, snore in Russian β itβs louder!β βWhere are my socks?β In zero gravity, clothes tend to drift away. One German astronaut launched a fullβon βsock huntβ after a missing sock hid behind the panels for a month. When they finally found it, the whole crew held a βreturn celebrationβ β with floating cookies. π€ Space Pranks Someone brought a rubber snake to the ISS and left it in the ventilation. When it floated out right in front of a Japanese astronautβs face, he swore in Russian for the first time in his life (before that, he only knew polite phrases). π‘ Funny Talks with Earth βWe have a UFO here!β One crew jokingly reported seeing an βunidentified objectβ to Mission Control. Panic started on the ground β until the cosmonauts admitted it was just some loose thermal insulation. Mission Controlβs reply: βNext βUFOβ will count as your vacation day.β π Return to Earth: Odd moments After long stays in zero gravity, astronauts forget Earthly habits. One Russian, back on solid ground, dropped a cup and froze in horror β he was waiting for it to float away. And a Canadian astronaut confessed that the first thing he did after landing was kick a stone β just to check that it falls. π©βπ Iβm not a cosmonaut, but I can spend a long time looking at the sky and thinking about alien worlds. Happy belated Cosmonautics Day! π
