Quote of the Day
It takes what it takes. This quote is so big that I am using it again. It is the title of a book, and an advocacy for Neutral Thinking. If you haven't been exposed to the Positive Thinking mindset, I want to let you know that there are huge benefits to positive thinking, positive mindsets, and visualizing success over being realistic or what is very easy to get to from there Negative thinking. In the Book "It Takes What It Takes," by Trevor Moawad, there was a very significant adaption to this Positive thinking mindset. If you are in a rut, struggling, or just fighting through something that is difficult it may be easy to listen to that inner voice that can lead us to think overly Negative. Now, think about this as a car. Reverse is negative, and Drive (or forward) is positive. If you have ever driven a manual you know that it is very bad for the transmission to go from Reverse straight to Drive. It is important to shift to Neutral first. To think neutrally, it is important to focus the things that we are doing and have done to prepare us to be successful in the task that we are pursuing. This is significant because by shifting to this mindset, we allow ourselves the space to then shift to positive. While it is easy to listen to the DJ in our head that tells us all of those bad things and can even replay our negative outcomes on repeat to get us thinking negative. It is just as important to realize that we are thinking this way and in turn shift to neutral. Replace the DJ with our own commentary, and focus on the reality of the situation. To focus on the things that we are doing to lead us to the success that we desire. Shift to Neutral to help yourself shift to Positive, if you find yourself thinking Negatively. Have a Great Day!

"Just start already!" Taking your community name @Hayley H this is a great way to go about movement and many things in life. While my tendency is to know as much as I can about something and pre-qualify myself for specific goals, I think that in a way it holds me back in a lot of areas. We are where we are, and we have aspirations on where we want to be. Take the step from where you are to where you want to go. There is mostly gain in doing this. and you can take little steps, those little steps add up over time and we will suprise ourselves on where we can get if we … JUST START ALREADY. You got this fam!

One of the movements that you should be doing is Squat.
Depending on where you are and what you do variations of this exercise are your friend. Strength in your thighs has been linked to longevity. When we get older doing exercises that improve our balance are very helpful. And being strong enough to get up, and travel to go do stuff, get stuff, etc. Is how older people survive and thrive. Squats also force us to address our mobility, which if we aren't using it, we are losing it. And if squats are hard for you because of injury or anything there are a lot of resources out there. Adapt the exercise so that you can do it and you will improve over time. The last major plus to adding squats to your routine is it helps our bone density. This, I assume, is linked more with weighted squats. However, this exercise is beautiful because our body is the weight. I will provide some more resource on this later, ask if you have any questions. But don't forget to squat. Add some weight if you can. Bonus points if you include your family or friends.
