Two Kurdish men detained in Javanrud, whereabouts unknown

Two Kurdish men from Javanrud, identified as Mohammad Mostafaei and Pouyan Ahmadi, have been arrested by Iranian security forces and taken to undisclosed locations.

According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Mohammad Mostafaei, a 20-year-old religious activist from Javanrud, was arrested on the evening of August 1, 2026.

Separately, Pouyan Ahmadi, 18, was arrested by Iranian security forces on July 30, 2026, and transferred to an undisclosed location.

Sources familiar with the case said repeated inquiries by the families of the two men regarding their condition and whereabouts have so far yielded no information.

The reasons for their arrests, and the charges against them remain unknown.
