Taken from Facebook: The war with Iran has claimed one of North Texas' own.
Army Pvt. #IsabellaGonzales of Carrollton was killed Friday during an Iranian missile and drone attack on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan.
She was just 19 years old.
The Pentagon identified Gonzales on Monday, along with 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Hawaii. Feehan, who died Saturday.
Both soldiers were supporting Operation Inherent Resolve—the American-led military mission formed to defeat ISIS.
Gonzales was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 57th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, part of the 10th Army Air and Missile Defense Command based in Ansbach, Germany.
Wars are often measured in strikes, strategy, and casualty totals.
But behind every number is a name, a hometown, and a family receiving unimaginable news.
For North Texas, that name is Isabella Gonzales.
She was a soldier. She was from Carrollton. And she was only 19 years old.
