Islamic Commission of Spain
The Islamic Commission of Spain (CIE) has stepped up its lobbying of Catalonia’s Department of Education, seeking to make Islamic Religious Education a standard and more widely available subject in public and state-funded schools across the region. Representatives of the Muslim organization argued for the broad rollout of the course, pointing to what they estimate is a school-age Muslim population of more than 100,000 students.
