Don't Cower, Rise
My family doesn’t know what I truly do. If they knew, they would have asked me why I fight. Why risk our safety, inviting danger into our lives when we could simply stay quiet and let the storm pass? They would plead with me out of love, urging me to choose a peaceful life instead of courting death at the hands of extremists. I understand their fears; I feel them sometimes, especially during quiet moments when the weight of it all becomes heavy.
Yet I defy them because the cause of protecting the free world is greater than any individual or family.
Someone has to fight.
If everyone who recognizes the truth—every atheist, every secularist, every lover of freedom, every Jew, every Christian who stands firm, every apostate who rejects oppression—if we all say, “not me, it’s too dangerous,” then who will fight back? Who will stop the encroaching darkness? The jihadists don't wait. They don't bargain with silence. They advance wherever there's weakness, wherever people choose comfort over courage. Appeasement only nourishes them; retreat only strengthens them.
I know these extremists. I've seen how they operate—their networks, their mosques turned into recruitment centers, their online propaganda, their mobs ready to act violently over a rumor or a cartoon. I understand their tactics because I've lived under their shadow. This knowledge isn’t just a burden; it’s a weapon. I can confront them in ways others may not be able to. I can expose them, challenge their lies, and strike at their ideology without hesitation. I may not wield a gun, but words, truth, and defiance are also powerful weapons, and they matter in this global conflict.
Yes, I am needed on the front lines.
Not because I seek martyrdom, but because surrender is not an option. If good, aware, and capable people refuse to resist, the extremists win by default. I will not allow them to revel over our collective demise. I will not give them the future without a fight.
Israel has shown that a small nation, surrounded by hostility, can not only survive but thrive by refusing to yield. The free world can achieve the same—if enough of us decide that living on our knees is worse than dying on our feet.
So I fight. Not out of hatred, but out of love—for reason, for freedom, and for a world where no one has to hide their doubts in the dark.
Someone must stand.
Today, that someone is me. Tomorrow, I hope many more will join.
