Introduction.
Hello everyone! My name is Wanda, I am Brazilian, a lawyer in Brazil and with a legal degree ratified in Europe. However, I currently have a new profession here in Norway; I am a nursing assistant and I work in a nursing home.
Hello From Cape Town South Africa
Hi All, I am a 40-something Intermediate Life Support (ILS) medic based in Cape Town, South Africa. I began volunteering with the Government Ambulance Service in 2004 and qualified as a Basic Life Support (BLS) Medic in 2005. During this time, I continued volunteering on government ambulances while also working ad hoc for private ambulance services. I also volunteered in the Trauma Unit at Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital, where I served for nine years. In 2012, I qualified as an Intermediate Life Support Medic. From 2012 until 2016, I continued volunteering with the Government Ambulance Service, working on both ILS and ALS ambulances. My experience also includes maritime medivac operations, event medical services, film shoots, and fixed-wing aeromedical operations. Beyond pre-hospital emergency care, I have been involved in Search and Rescue operations, serving as both an On-Scene Commander and Communications Officer. I am also a qualified Electrical Technician, Radio Technician, and Access Control Technician. On this platform I am hoping to meet other Medics from around the world and help share my experience and knowledge.
About me
I have a professional background spanning across emergency medicine, prehospital care, and operational preparedness, with experience across healthcare, maritime, offshore, and rescue environments. My work is grounded in the reality that critical incidents rarely occur under ideal conditions—and that effective medical response requires both clinical expertise and a deep understanding of operational context. My experience includes work in ambulance and prehospital services, emergency and acute care, as well as training and advisory roles within high-risk industries and public-sector preparedness. I have worked closely with healthcare personnel, rescue services, maritime and offshore crews, and decision-makers, contributing to education, simulation-based training, and the development of practical medical and preparedness concepts. I am particularly focused on translating medical knowledge into realistic, operationally relevant practice. This includes bridging the gap between hospital-based emergency medicine and prehospital, maritime, and remote settings—where time, resources, and environment place unique demands on clinical decision-making. My approach emphasizes patient safety, structured decision-making, interdisciplinary cooperation, and learning from real incidents. Whether through training, advisory work, or concept development, my goal is to strengthen individual competence and organizational readiness, ensuring robust medical response when it matters most.
Hello from northern Norway
I am a 25-year-old paramedic from Norway, currently working in Northern Norway. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Paramedicine, where my thesis focused on plasma transfusion in bleeding trauma patients. Before starting my academic education, I served as a Level 3 medic in the Norwegian Armed Forces. This experience was a major motivation for me to pursue further studies and a career in paramedicine. Through both civilian practice and my short militery experience, I have developed a strong interest in prehospital emergency care and trauma management. On this platform, I hope to connect with prehospital providers from other countries, learn how EMS systems operate in different settings, and exchange knowledge and experiences related to trauma care, equipment, and training. Looking forward to seeing what this platform develops into!
