A lot of conversations around ADHD, autism, and different diagnoses turn into
“Where did this come from?”
“Is it generational?”
“Can it be prayed away?”
“Is this spiritual or natural?”
And I’m going to say this with love…
We can spend so much time trying to figure out where it came from…
that we neglect what we’re supposed to do right now.
Because at the end of the day…
Whether it came from generations before…
Or this is simply how your child was born…your responsibility does not change.
If your child catches a cold…
You don’t sit there all day trying to figure out where it came from.
You treat it.
You nurture them.
You give them what they need.
So when it comes to our children…
We can’t get stuck in:
renouncing everything
or ignoring everything
or debating everything
We take a full approach.
We pray
We believe God
We stand on His Word
AND…
We build structure
We teach discipline
We get support if needed
We show up consistently
Because faith without works is dead.
You can pray all day…
But your child still needs
guidance
structure
training
It is OK to believe God for healing.
But while you are believing…you still have to build.
Because what if…
God doesn’t remove it immediately…
but uses it to grow YOU?
To strengthen your patience…
your leadership…
your dependence on Him…
Think about Moses.
He struggled with speaking…
And God didn’t remove it.
He worked THROUGH it.
He sent help.
He still used him.
So the question is not just
Will God, take this away.
The question is also
God, how do I lead my child through this?
Because one day…
your child will not have you right there.
Will they only know
“My parent prayed for me…”
Or will they know:
how to stand
how to function
how to navigate life
because you trained them?
Let’s not just pray over our children…
Let’s prepare them.
