NCAA Division I Football Transfer Portal Dates
The NCAA Division I Football Transfer Portal (FBS and FCS) is currently open for two weeks: January 2–16, 2026. If you are still looking to transfer, you're running out of time. See your school's compliance officer for more info.
NOTE:
Division II and Division III student-athletes do not have specific windows during which they must enter the Transfer Portal. You should still see who heads up your NCAA compliance (perhaps your AD) if you're interested in changing schools. You'd hate to take steps that have you ineligible to play next season.
