My alma mater wins the DIII National Championship!

Just thought I'd sing the praises of the University of Wisconsin - River Falls, who just defeated the defending champion North Central Cardinals 24-14 in Canton, Ohio (Pro Football Hall of Fame Stadium) on a beautifully cold Sunday night... in January!

It what might be called the last true bastion of amateur athletics, and it doesn't get much better than this. Two teams of "non-scholarship" athletes who give it there all for the love of the game. Not NIL, not prestige, not a ticket to the pros, but because they all love the game of football and simply want to compete against the very best, no matter the conditions.
