Sweet Tooth? [Eat This…Not This]
After jiu-jitsu tonight, my son was jonesing for some Firehouse. And since I hadn’t thawed out any venison or had anything else to cook for dinner I just told Hadia (my wife) to put in an order for pickup.
Now, for those of you with kids, you know this means that (1) kids will get a kid meal that includes a cookie, and (2) the dad tax will almost ALWAYS be taken out.
When that’s the case and I’ve got a sweet tooth, one of my official go to’s to help keep on track with my diet is high protein “kid” cereal.
The one I’ve been meathead “fat-kidding” out to recently might be my favorite of all time! “Ghost” brand peanut putter cereal with Fair Life chocolate milk. Crushing a SMALL bowl (helps portion size control) after dinner instead of a brownie or cookie is a great high protein and low sugar option for you to keep on the diet wagon while shutting up the fat-kid voice in your head. At 25 g of protein, and delicious, it makes for a killer “dessert”!!! It admittedly may not be the BEST quality protein, but it beats the hell out of a 300-400 calorie cookie or brownie that spikes your insulin levels….
How’d diet and training go today? Chime in!!!
Hands Up…KEEP FIGHTING!!!
