Cindy
Today's workout was the Cindy. The Cindy workout is a popular 20-minute bodyweight benchmark workout from CrossFit. Set a timer for 20 minutes and complete As Many Rounds As Possible (AMRAP) of: - 5 pull-ups - 10 push-ups - 15 air squats I saw recently that Tom Holland (aka Spiderman) has a PR of 27 rounds. That is absolutely incredible. I got 5 rounds in about 18 minutes. The pull-ups were a huge limiting factor for me. Halfway through round 3 I was starting to kip pretty hard with my legs to get myself up on the pull-ups. But I struggled through them nonetheless. 5 isn't great but at the end that is still 25 pull-ups, 50 push ups, and 75 air squats. Finisher today was the kettlebell figure 8: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/NGzHa2Zahe0 I had never done this before so I used a 12 kg bell to get the feel of it. I did two sets of 1 minute. Oooh baby could I feel my obliques burning during this movement. I liked it. And finally I did a 1 minute static over head hold with double 16 kg bells.

Midlife Fit Club Killer Workout
Today's workout came from a channel called Midlife Fit Club on YouTube. My first time using one of his workouts and it was a damned good one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nb3QIIvfybY Single Arm Deadlifts L - 5 Dead Hang Cleans L - 5 Reverse Lunges L - 5 Thrusters L - 5 Repeat on the other side. Completing both sides counts as 1 round. Do 5 rounds. I did the first 3 rounds with a 20kg bell. Started feeling super fatigued, and my garage is probably over 100 degrees right now, so I switched to a 16 kg bell for the last 2 rounds. Finisher was a one minute overhead static hold with two 16 kg bells.

Random Quick Workout
I wanted to get a workout in today but didn't want to do anything too heavy because I'm still feeling the workouts from earlier in the week. Just decided to do jump rope and burpees and finished it up in 20 minutes. Jump Rope 1 minute on, 30 seconds off I did 5 rounds. Burpees 12 minute timer, as many 1 pump burpees as possible. I got 77. 77 isn't bad, but my PR in 12 minutes is 90. Either way got a great sweat and can check it off my list for the day. A nice reminder that you don't need much equipment or time to get a good workout.

Trevor Transformation
Today was another Trevor workout: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/1rL5OOWFpSU Double kettlebells. 5 Swings 5 Squats 5 Cleans 5 Thrusters. Try and do that without putting the bell down. Rest three minutes between rounds. Go for 6 rounds. I did this with double 16 kg bells. I admit I had to put the bell down once, after the squats, on rounds 4-6. But I did finish all the movements and rounds. This was very difficult and I bet I will feel it tomorrow. Trevor's workouts always bring a little bit extra.
Elite KB Fitness Test
I tried this from Trevor's Instinct yesterday: https://youtube.com/shorts/C32QA-0nZOw?si=jtgkZ8ncAM0nuI42 Grab a KB and go for a walk. Do a suitcase carry with the R hand, and when it gets tired switch to the L hand. When that gets tired, switch it to the rack position on the R side. When that gets tired switch it to the rack position on the L side. When that gets tired switch it to the overhead position on the R side. When that gets tired switch it to the overhead position on the L side. When that gets tired, so back to the suitcase carry on the R side and start all over. The idea is to never put the KB down. You can go for distance or time. Yesterday I used a 12 kg bell and went for 30 minutes. It was easier than I thought it would be with that weight, so next time I will use a 16 kg bell and see how far I can make it.

Just did this again using a 16 kg bell. I made it the entire 30 minutes but it was definitely more difficult than with the 12 kg bell. I walked a total of 1.3 miles with an average speed of 2.6 mph. Maybe next time we go for the 20 kg bell? I'm not sure I will actually make it all 30 minutes without putting the bell down using 20 kg bell.

Today was another kettlebell walk, this time with the 20 kg bell. This was waaaaaay more difficult but I did make it the entire 30 minutes. Actually, I made it just about 32 minutes because I lost track of time on my watch. That is the heaviest bell I own at the moment so I will keep doing the walk with the 20 kg bell until it becomes too easy. Great stuff.
