I looked into Mine as a possible credit-builder for Cloud Residents.
My take: it’s a real product, but I would not call it a top first recommendation for most ITIN holders.
What Mine offers:
• no interest
• no late fees
• linked bank account + autopay
• credit-building angle for beginners
Why I’m cautious:
• paid membership is required for the real card experience
• membership does not guarantee approval
• the starting line looks limited, around USD 90 to USD 1,000
• recent references suggest reporting to Experian and TransUnion, but not Equifax
• I did not find a strong official signal I’d trust yet that clearly confirms broad ITIN acceptance
Why this matters for Cloud Residents
For this community, the real question is not just “does it build credit?”
It’s whether it works well for:
• ITIN holders
• non-US residents
• people building from abroad
• people who want the strongest value with the least friction
That’s where Mine feels weaker.
Bottom line
Mine looks legitimate, but for most Cloud Residents I’d put it in the maybe later bucket, not the best first move bucket.
If anyone here has real datapoints with Mine + ITIN, drop them below:
• approved or denied
• ITIN or SSN
• inside or outside the US
• linked bank used
• which bureaus showed the account
