As Trump takes over White House for around a week, he has:
1. Pause funding for scientific research
2. Pause funding for student loans
3. Issue "buyback" for federal workers
4. Hiring freeze for federal gov agencies (anyone who is on probation is terminated)
5. Starting random tariff wars (which also caused soaring egg prices)
6. Removed the reporting unit for bird flu (COVID 2.0)
7. Remove life-saving insulin cap of $25 a month (which will bounce back to $1500 a month)
(And much more)
So far, the market hasn't reacted negatively to Trump yet.
As I expected, there's a delay between issuing executive orders and a market crash.
As you remove the building blocks of the USA from the bottom, the castle topples.
So the question becomes - when should you short the market? It is a matter of timing.
Cheers,
Eric
