1% Match to Rollover Your 401K/IRA If You Are Interested (USA)
When we get a new job, we need to decide what to do with our 401K. We have choices: 1) Rollover to the new employer's 401K. 2) Leave it with the prior employer. 3) Open a rollover IRA and move it there.
I have always chosen to rollover to an IRA because it will open up a lot more investment choices. However, there are a few diligent things one should consider, don’t just rollover to any institutions.
Here are my personal requirements:
1) Reputation of the institution (Ethical and trustworthy)
2) How good is the brokerage firm you are considering in the following areas: Ease of use, powerful tools, customer service, and resources?
4) What is the fee structure?
3) Any bonus offers for moving money to their brokerage firm.
I found the link below and would like to share it in case you can use it. 1% match from SOFI is pretty good.
Disclaimer: I personally do not have an account with SOFI (because I already have an established brokerage firm I like and work with), so you need to do your own diligence & make sure SOFI meets your qualifications.
REMEMBER EVERY MOVE COUNTS IN YOUR LONG-TERM INVESTING JOURNEY.
