Networking without the "Ick"
Does the word "networking" make you want to hide? I get it. But for us, networking isn't about awkward business card exchanges. It's about building an Advocacy Circle. Here is how you build yours naturally:
First, try a Speaker Swap. Connect with people in different niches and refer clients to each other. Second, utilize the "Post-Event Thank You." Drop an email to the other speakers from your last gig to build on that shared experience. Finally, simply Be a Resource. Send an interesting article or a lead to an event planner with "no strings attached."
The bottom line is that your network is your "net worth" in this industry. Focus on who you can help, and the bookings will follow.
