Having the audience take a bit of you home with them is terrific! Having them buy in without having seen you takes it up a notch. Remember that all of your content including the products need to be consistent. I'm reworking 25 years of product development to accomplish that goal right now.

What are you doing 10 minutes before the mic goes live? The lights are dimming, the MC is reading your bio, and your heart is doing triple-time. Top-tier speakers don’t just pace around nervously; they have a ritual to prime themselves for a powerhouse performance. Your Pre-Stage Checklist: 1. Power Posing: Stand like a superhero for 2 minutes to lower cortisol. 2. The "First 60" Visualization: Just visualize the first minute. Nail the opening, and the rest flows. 3. Hydrate & Hum: Warm up your vocal cords with room-temp water and quiet humming. 4. Find a Friend: Pick one friendly face in the front row and treat the talk like a chat with them. Note: Nerves are just energy without a direction. Don't try to "calm down"—try to get excited instead.

I like being on first, after a break or after a meal. So usually 10 minutes before I'm mingling with the audience. It relaxes me and often provides material I'll use during the keynote. At about 5 minutes before I'm making sure that my introducer has the intro I've written and knows to read it verbatim. 3 minutes before I'm in position to take the stage. A minute before, i center myself and mentally go over the first line. then it is showtime!
The "Silent Introduction"
I was spending some time in the community today and it hit me just how much heavy lifting our profiles do before we ever send a message or hop on a call. In a space like Skool, your profile isn’t just a bio—it’s your silent introduction. But it made me wonder: are we using that space to its full potential, or are we leaving opportunity on the table by being a bit too modest? I noticed a few common patterns that most of us (myself included!) fall into. If you look at your own profile right now through the eyes of a total stranger, here are a few things to consider: - Titles vs. Outcomes: Many of us lead with "International Speaker," "Author," or "CEO." Those are impressive, but they tell people what you are, not necessarily how you help them. What changes for the person who hires you? - Human Connection: We have an amazing mix of coaches, poets, and facilitators here. Adding a tiny bit of "why" or a human touch—like your mission to make the world better or your specific creative lens—helps you stand out in a sea of professional labels. It’s usually just a simple shift from sounding "qualified" to being "the solution." When was the last time you looked at your bio and asked: "If someone landed here with zero context, would they know exactly why they should reach out to me within five seconds?" @Regina Huber @E.g. I had to check. Here's what mine said: I'm a Marketing Rainmaker. I guide consultants, coaches and independent professionals to become more memorable and more profitable. Interesting. No comments about being an international keynoter or speaking on Trust on three continents. Thanks for the jog Drew.
How do I make people care?
Big question ... But that is what I am pondering today. How do I make Canadians want to engage and include Indigenous people? And if they do engage or include, how do I make them want to do that in a more respectful way? Do I describe their business without us? Their community without us? Thoughts appreciated from the amazing marketing and sales peeps in this group. @Jerry Fletcher @Kevin Marius @Drew Brania @David Corsini @Crystal Wright

Sandi, You can't make people care. What you can do is give those that are leaning toward caring more reasons why. I don't mean logical, data=driven reasons, I mean emotional. An example from the polarized USA. It is patently obvious that the MAGA folks are genuine racists and zenophobic in matters of sex. But Pete Buttigeig is out there in Red states pulling in big audiences because he is talking about matters that affect them all. Along the way he talks about being a father in a gay marriage worried about keeping his kids safe and being able to go home and relax with his partner each evening. Reminds me of a trans speaker I helped position a couple years ago. She became known for speaking to groups who wanted a diversity speaker. Her tag line was, "I take the fear our of Queer." .In short, be yourself. Don't try to convert the world. Convince one at a time. Add each one like a pearl to a necklace. Add one and then another and soon you'll have a string of them.
Let's talk ... Calendly
Good morning all! Hoping to hear your thoughts on Calendly. I love the promise of the program and when it works, its great. But there are times it tries to book appointments when I am unavailable. Is there another option, another app that does the same thing? @Kevin Marius @Jerry Fletcher what do you two use? Thanks to anyone who offers feedback! Appreciated.
