Every “No” Is Just a Detour to build something Bigger
A few months ago before joining the inspiring speakers community, I applied to be a Sr Learning Manager at my company.
I thought I was the perfect fit.
Instead… I got a NO.
I was upset. Disappointed.
But here’s the thing about a closed door , it forces you to build your own.
Instead of sitting in frustration, I started creating my own training curriculum. I invested in my skills, refined my message, and delivered value wherever I could.
Fast forward to now…
The same department that turned me down has reached out , not for me to work in their team but to invite me for my keynote and training, because of the impact I’ve been making.
Here are a few lessons I’ve learned (and seen in others) about rejection:
No is not the end. J.K. Rowling was rejected by 12 publishers before Harry Potter became a global phenomenon.
Build anyway. Oprah was told she was “unfit for television” now she owns the network.
Let results speak louder. I could have stayed bitter, but results built a reputation they couldn’t ignore.
📌 Every “No” challenges you to do more.
It can push you toward your own path, your own platform, and your own version of success.
So, if you’re facing a closed door today… maybe it’s just the hallway to something greater.
