Doing Two Things at Once ...
This morning another practical advice post.
Again, many people marvel at how much I can get done in a day or month or year and one of my secrets is that I am ALWAYS doing two things (at minimum) at once but not in the way you think.
"Multitasking" was all the rage for many years.
Then it was debunked as people pointed out it is impossible to focus on two things at once (the keyword there being "focus").
And I agree with both points.
I DO multitask but I only focus on one thing at a time.
For context, I no longer have employees (I did for years). Now, I am a solopreneur with many freelance contractors. This model totally works for me, allowing me to do three, four, ten things at once.
I also work from home and live alone, with two furbabies so I am solely responsible for running my home as well.
As a result, at any given time, I can be:
  • designing a new seminar,
  • while my graphic designer is creating a poster for another seminar,
  • while my video editor is working on my latest video
  • while I am doing laundry
  • while a shopper is picking up my groceries for me.
I am working on five different things at once, by delegating, while also only focusing on one thing at a time and THAT is how I move mountains.
This may work for you, this may not, and that is totally fine.
Your success will be the result of YOU finding what works for you but don't stop yourself from trying new things and never argue against an idea without trying it because I know one thing for sure ...
If I was still doing things the way I THOUGHT I had to do things in year one ... I wouldn't be in year 17 of my business.
Keep growing, keep trying, keep learning.
Because your business will never be bigger than you allow it to be.
Love you!
