Training Design is Rehearsing Results- Todays Podcast
Why Training Is Key Today to Become a Class Act Today’s commercial landscape demands more than competence; it demands edge. Technology is evolving faster than ever, customer expectations are rising, and leaders are measured not only by what they know but also by how effectively they can execute under pressure. Training is no longer a tick-box exercise. World-class behaviour, commercial intelligence, and dependable performance are all shaped by this strategic engine. To become a class act, professionals must be accurate, self-assured, and polished. To become an edger, they must develop the mindset and skills that separate them from the average performer, always staying 1% ahead and consistently delivering world-class results. The link between a team's current state and the degree of excellence that characterises genuinely unmatched organisations is training. You're 100% right @Sheena LC Walker! In 2000 I challenged myself to attend 6 live trainings for speakers. It was amazing to be with so many professional speakers. I learned so much! Six years later, I became one of the speakers and the perspective from the platform compared to being in the audience was amazing! I continued to attend speaker's training programs and have built incredible relationships with so many talented speakers.

Podcasters Looking for Guests
I had a great call today with the founder of Podcast Directory. He has a large network of podcasters who are looking for guests. I did about 30 podcast last year and I really enjoy the process of getting to talk with so many people who have a broad varied audience. If you've thought about getting out there in the media, this is a great platform for you. Let me know if you'd like an invitation.

@Gopika Ashok M Once you've done a few podcasts, the prep is minimal. I have bullet points to keep me on track but the host typically guides the conversation. Doing a podcast raises your credibility and requires much more work. I was just talking with someone who is giving up her podcast after 2 years because she can't quantify the hours that go into producing each segment. I had a live show on an AM station downtown San Francisco for 2 years and the prep averaged 8 to 10 hours for a one hour show. It gave me tremendous visibility and credibility, but after that I was able to leverage it into guest appearances which gave me just as much visibility and expanded my exposure drastically.

As always @Drew Brania, this is great advice. The challenge most speakers have is staying on top of the list. Adding new contacts, following up, knowing how often to follow up without appearing to be spamming and what content to provide. There unfortunately, isn't a magic formula. My speaker feedback form request what my audience needs. What else do they want to hear about and who do they know that they could refer me to to help me expand on my speaking gigs. Again, my VA carries the heavy lifting so I can focus on creating new content and having conversations with perspective speaking engagements.

Great job @Drew Brania! I would add that it makes it easier to accomplish all the many tasks a speaker has to keep up with by having a VA. I have been using my friends firm in the Philippines since 1998. It's an amazing feeling to wake up and see all the work that was accomplished while I was sleeping. She has never raised her rates. She charges $7/hr and has a 10/hr week min. I always work the same person who has gotten to know me and personalizes her work just for me.

@Drew Brania Exactly! I still feel elated when I see what my VA has accomplished for me overnight! They manage my bookings, social media, email and all the tasks that I generally don't have time to do well!
