Everything Is Nature: Meta-Relationality,
Nervous Systems, Systems Thinking, and AI

This is the first foundational paper of a five-paper series for the Meta-Rationality
and Artificial Intelligence Research Project at the University of Victoria.
It establishes the ontological ground the rest of the series builds on: that artificial intelligence systems are part of nature rather than outside it, and that what AI is changing in humans must be asked through the same relational frame as what is changing in the rest of the living world.
This essay traces an encounter between systems thinking and meta-relationality, asking what artificial intelligence reveals about nervous
systems, modernity, and the ontological habits shaping relation in a time of planetary unraveling.
