Does the weight room really matter to hoopers?
YES!!!
Whoever said you don’t need the weight room or that it would “mess with your shot” was crazy. The only potential negative is the soreness you could feel. Lifting weights does several things for hoopers:
  1. You will get leaner! Fat don’t fly. Higher muscle mass means more calories burned, even at rest.
  2. Your jumps will be more powerful! Your cuts will also become more efficient and cover farther distances. An ESSENTIAL and also a cheat code if you don’t naturally have this ability!
  3. You won’t get bullied. There’s no worse feeling than getting thrown around because you’re too small.
Take the weight room seriously… it WILL make or break your career!
