AI has a glaring issue.
Many recruiters have lost their jobs, finding themselves replaced with AI. Companies have wiped out whole teams with a wide swipe eliminating all levels of talent or capability.
The expectations are high, but the reality is less than desirable. The AI used in the recruitment process ticks off requirements and finds candidates that fit the box, but that’s the issue.
There is no thinking outside the box. AI has replaced only the abilities of bad recruiters, not Talent Acquisition Artists. As AI finds candidates that fit the cookie cutter, companies will begin to suffer for it. Companies will be hampered by new hires that will not push the envelope of creative problem solving, as that type of candidate does not fit in a box.
If Google can figure out that they needed to hire outside their usual hiring choices, other organisations will come to their senses as well.
