The Roses They Left You
When your parents are getting older, preparing to leave this world, they are hoping you will carry on what they built, because the house can only survive if you put in the effort. But what they don't always realise is that they never taught you the necessary steps on how to do that. They just tried to hand you the pen, and as a kid, you didn't have the knowledge to understand what you were being given, not until it became necessary. What you have been given should be put to use, because you might already be on a journey of success, and you don't even know it yet. Your parents built an empire, and you are standing inside it. I've learned that it is best to use your network. And here is how I came to understand that. When your parents were watering the roses, and they bloomed, they had to keep watering them for them to stay alive. In turn, that brought a gift into your life. So when the time came, they turned to you. They wanted to give you that gift so you could keep it alive, too. But you never knew how to water roses. All you ever saw was them grown. You never saw the process of how they came to be, and honestly, you never wanted to water them in the first place, because when it became your turn, it felt like a daunting task you had never had to deal with before. But as you got older, and you started exploring many different flowers, you began to realise that those roses were important to your life. They are needed in your everyday life to get to where you want to go. And they are not going to stay alive if you just stay in the house and let them be. You are going to have to put in the same effort your parents did. The effort that brought comfort to your home. That is the only way the roses will survive. Then it hits you that they actually put in a lot of work. It came with steps, it came with struggle, and it came with knowledge. All of that together is what brought comfort to your world. Now it is your turn to do the same. Except now, you step into reality.

What is your Candidate Operating System?
Try this prompt in you Chatbot ( I prefer Claude for this over ChatGPT) "Can you break this down according to my background skills, and ideal job or means of making money please: How the Candidate Operating System Works. The Candidate Operating System (C.OP.S.) is a job search strategy and brand-building framework designed to help candidates become "Need" candidates — those employers actively seek out and want to hire. Core Philosophy The system focuses on creating a high‑level, memorable professional brand that makes employers feel a need for you, rather than just being a "Nice" candidate who gets offers passively. It's about standing out in a crowded market and making employers want to hire you. Key Strategies 1. Unique Value Proposition (UVP) Instead of offering a broad range of skills, the C.OP.S. emphasizes 3–5 unique, memorable actions you've taken for companies. These actions are specific, impactful, and directly tied to the employer's current business mission. This "mental lane" helps decision‑makers remember and connect with your value. 2. 2. Bypassing Gatekeepers The approach encourages candidates to go directly to decision‑makers rather than relying on HR or recruiters. This can involve targeted outreach, social media engagement, or other direct communication methods to show value and initiate conversations. 3. 3. Controlling the Conversation By focusing on a few standout actions, you guide the interview process so employers ask questions about them. This keeps the conversation focused and gives you control over how your value is perceived. 4. 4. Building an Evergreen Brand The system aims to create a tribe of people who remember your unique value and will reach out when they need it. This long‑term brand presence ensures you're always in demand. 5. 5. Practical Tools & Resources The C.OP.S. offers consultation, referral programs, and employer‑sponsored initiatives, plus access to a book and webinars to help candidates implement the strategy." 6.
