How stress creates hormone imbalances (+ 6 reasons you need a Detox)
Most women think hormone imbalance means: šŸ‘‰ ā€œI have too much or too little oestrogenā€ But clinically… it’s rarely that simple. Because stress doesn’t just change your hormones, it changes how your body uses, processes, and clears them. What actually happens under stress? Lower progesterone Poor oestrogen clearance Increased reabsorption Relative oestrogen dominance When you’re under chronic stress, your body shifts into survival mode. It increases Cortisol production, and it redirects resources away from reproduction and repair. 1ļøāƒ£ Progesterone drops first Your body uses the same building blocks to produce cortisol and progesterone. If stress is high, even the best nutrition will actually be diverted to more cortisol, which means your progesterone remains low despite your best efforts. 2ļøāƒ£ Oestrogen becomes ā€œunopposedā€ You may not always produce more oestrogen…But with lower progesterone, it can feel like you do. That’s what we call scientifically as ā€œRelative oestrogen dominanceā€. Think: IrritabilityBreast tendernessHeavy or irregular cycles, fibroids, endoFluid retentionMood swings 3ļøāƒ£ In some cases, oestrogen does increase If you are noticing an increase in abdominal fat, chances are fat tissue is converting other hormones into more oestrogen. Especially when insulin resistance is present. 4ļøāƒ£ The part most women are never told… Stress also impacts how oestrogen is metabolised and cleared - not just produced. šŸ‘‰šŸ½ This is where Detoxification becomes really important. Under chronic stress your Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal (HPA) axis is constantly activated. If your body is prioritising survival… you are not detoxyificating efficiently. The order becomes: Blood sugar balance -> Toxin removal -> Hormone clearance. šŸ”¬ The Phase 1 / Phase 2 Oestrogen is processed in two phases: Phase 1 → activation (more free radicals) Phase 2 → neutralisation + elimination Under chronic stress: Phase 1 can become overactive and Phase 2 becomes sluggish This creates:

Should you consider Hormone Replacement Therapy? Read on…
There comes a time in a woman's life where our bodies simply starts to feel… different. 🌿 Slower metabolism 🌿 Weight gain (especially around the midsection) 🌿 Lower libido, changes in our cycles, vaginal dryness 🌿 Brain fog and increasing fatigue Even when our nutrition and exercise routines haven’t changed. Naturally, many women respond by: āž”ļø Eating less āž”ļø Exercising harder But this often backfires. Because as we enter perimenopause, the body becomes more sensitive to stress, in all forms. What’s actually happening? Two key hormones begin to fluctuate significantly: 🧬 Oestrogen and Progesterone Oestrogen supports serotonin and insulin sensitivity → helping you feel focused, motivated, confident and clear Progesterone supports GABA → leaving you calm, relaxed, and emotionally balanced When these hormones are balanced, they create a natural feminine rhythm: 🌷 Follicular phase → confident, clear, magnetic 🌹 Luteal phase → calm, vulnerable, intuitive When this balance begins to shifts rapidly, especially in perimenopause, it's natural to feel overwhelmed and lost. But these hormones don’t just affect how you feel, they also play a protective role in: 🌿 Bone health (osteoporosis risk) 🌿 Brain function and cognition 🌿 Cardiovascular health 🌿 Inflammation and weight regulation šŸ¤ So… should you consider HRT? For many women, bioidentical hormone therapy can be a very supportive option. It may help to: ✨ Ease perimenopause symptoms ✨ Improve mood, energy, and clarity ✨ Support bone and heart health ✨ Help the body adapt more smoothly to hormonal changes But hormones are only part of the picture Your foundations matter just as much (if not more): ✨Restorative sleep ✨ Movement aligned with your capacity ✨ Nourishing foods: Healthy fats, Protein, Fibre, Antioxidants My clinical perspective If your foundations are in place…and you’re still experiencing persistent symptoms… šŸ‘‰ HRT is absolutely worth exploring with the right guidance. But if you’re earlier in the journey, focusing on lifestyle + nervous system support can be an incredibly place to begin.

You’re in your 40s, eating well, doing all the right things…and somehow, you don’t feel like yourself anymore.
I hear these sentences many times a day in my clinic and women's circles: 🪫 "I feel exhausted" 🪫 "I am struggling to keep up with your ā€œto doā€ list" 🪫 "I lost my sparkle, and feel flat, irritable, and so unmotivated" The hardest part is... With time, they believe there’s something wrong with them. Like their body is broken. When the reality is: There’s a deeper reason for the symptoms you may be experiencing. 1ļøāƒ£ Your hormones are fluctuating (not just declining) As oestrogen and progesterone shift and swing, your brain is constantly trying to adapt. This directly impacts your mood, clarity, and energy…which is why you may feel foggy, overwhelmed, or not quite yourself. 2ļøāƒ£ Your nervous system is under more pressure. During perimenopause, your body becomes more sensitive to stress. What you once handled with ease…now feels overwhelming -> leaving you wired, tired, and emotionally depleted 3ļøāƒ£ Your metabolism and energy production are changing. With lower oestrogen, your body no longer responds the same way to food, exercise, and stress. Pushing harder, eating less, and over-exercising? This often makes things worse, NOT better. And here’s what most women are never told: ✨ Your symptoms don’t always show up in standard blood tests. But that doesn’t mean they’re not real. After 40's, our bodies do not respond well to ā€œpushing harderā€ . This is a time to recalibrate. šŸ”‹ Thorough hormone assessment and balance šŸ”‹ Nervous system rest and regulation šŸ”‹ Deep, intentional nourishment Because with the right support: ✨Your mind becomes clear again - the brain fog lifts ✨Your energy stabilises - and weight loss naturally follows ✨You start to feel like yourself again - and regain your zest for life If this is where you are right now… Leave a comment below ā¬‡ļø Let's bring this issue to every women's conversation. And if you need more support, I would love to invite you to my Femme Radiance Programs, where I offer personalised support so you can restore your health and reclaim your zest for life!

3 Signs Your Hormones Are Shifting in Perimenopause + Top 5 Tips to Thrive
Most women are not taught about hormone health, so when their bodies start to change, they feel lost and overwhelmed. And one of the most dangerous misbeliefs are: 🪫 ā€œIt's just stress.ā€ 🪫 ā€œI’m getting older.ā€ 🪫 ā€œI need to eat less and exercise more.ā€ But very often, what’s actually happening is hormonal shifts, not a lack of discipline. ✨ 3 Signs Your Hormones May Be Shifting šŸ‘‰šŸ½ Your menstrual cycles are changing, becoming shorter, heavier, irregular, or more sparse šŸ‘‰šŸ½ Your weight is increasing, especially around the abdomen despite your best efforts šŸ‘‰šŸ½ You feel more tired and less resilient to stress If you are doing everything the same, but your body doesn’t feel the same and you don’t know why, this is often the first sign you may be entering perimenopause. And more and more often, I am seeing this happening in women as young as 35. This is not a coincidence. Women today are more stressed than ever, physically, mentally, and emotionally. And stress has a direct impact on progesterone, thyroid function, metabolism, and sleep. ✨ But the good news is: These symptoms can be improved naturally. What you need during this phase is more support and nourishment. Not punishment. ✨ Top 5 Tips to Thrive in Perimenopause 1ļøāƒ£ Nervous System Regulation If you implement daily strategies to manage stress, your hormones will respond. Try:• Diaphragmatic breathing (5 min, 3 times per day)• Restorative yoga• Walks in nature• Journaling, drawing, creative activities• Anything that helps you return to a calm state A regulated nervous system is one of the most powerful hormone-balancing tools. 2ļøāƒ£ Blood Sugar Balance Start your day with:• Protein• Fibre• Healthy fats Ensure your main meals are balanced and keep snacks low in sugar.Choose things like protein snacks, yoghurt, nuts, boiled eggs, or hummus with carrot sticks. Stable blood sugar = stable energy, mood, and hormones. 3ļøāƒ£ Strength Training As we age, muscles are our metabolic health & longevity vault After 35–40, women need to focus more on strength than cardio.

A little celebration… and a reminder to listen to your body 🌸
I’m feeling deeply grateful today as I share with you that my work has recently been featured on the Juice Plus+ website as part of their International Women’s Day series celebrating women supporting women. ✨ In the article, I spoke about something that I see every single day in my practice: Our bodies communicating through symptoms. Anxiety, poor sleep, fatigue, PMS, or worsening hormone conditions are rarely random. In fact, they signals that something deeper needs attention and support. Sadly, many women are still taught to push through it, or to believe they are simply part of being a women, or getting older. But the truth is this: Your body never works against you. It's only asking for nourishment and balance. The plus side is that when we start listening and addressing these symptoms, beautiful shifts begin to happen: ✨ Energy becomes stable ✨ Sleep improves ✨ Mood is uplifted ✨ Cycles regulate ✨ Skin and digestion improve This is exactly what the women I work with experience. If reading this resonates with you, it may be a sign that your body is asking for support too. I would love to invite you to a Hormone & Metabolism Reset Consultation, where we explore your health and symptoms, identify the root causes, and create a personalised plan for restoring balance, vitality, and radiance. There are a few consultation spaces still open this month, and I would love to see you in one of them šŸ’• Please also read the article here and share it with your friends. https://au.juiceplus.com/blogs/international-womens-day/support-your-bodys-signals?_pos=2&_sid=aaeaa16ac&_ss=r&partner=10513843 With love, Simone 🌷
