How stress creates hormone imbalances (+ 6 reasons you need a Detox)
Most women think hormone imbalance means: 👉 “I have too much or too little oestrogen” But clinically… it’s rarely that simple. Because stress doesn’t just change your hormones, it changes how your body uses, processes, and clears them. What actually happens under stress? Lower progesterone Poor oestrogen clearance Increased reabsorption Relative oestrogen dominance When you’re under chronic stress, your body shifts into survival mode. It increases Cortisol production, and it redirects resources away from reproduction and repair. 1️⃣ Progesterone drops first Your body uses the same building blocks to produce cortisol and progesterone. If stress is high, even the best nutrition will actually be diverted to more cortisol, which means your progesterone remains low despite your best efforts. 2️⃣ Oestrogen becomes “unopposed” You may not always produce more oestrogen…But with lower progesterone, it can feel like you do. That’s what we call scientifically as “Relative oestrogen dominance”. Think: IrritabilityBreast tendernessHeavy or irregular cycles, fibroids, endoFluid retentionMood swings 3️⃣ In some cases, oestrogen does increase If you are noticing an increase in abdominal fat, chances are fat tissue is converting other hormones into more oestrogen. Especially when insulin resistance is present. 4️⃣ The part most women are never told… Stress also impacts how oestrogen is metabolised and cleared - not just produced. 👉🏽 This is where Detoxification becomes really important. Under chronic stress your Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal (HPA) axis is constantly activated. If your body is prioritising survival… you are not detoxyificating efficiently. The order becomes: Blood sugar balance -> Toxin removal -> Hormone clearance. 🔬 The Phase 1 / Phase 2 Oestrogen is processed in two phases: Phase 1 → activation (more free radicals) Phase 2 → neutralisation + elimination Under chronic stress: Phase 1 can become overactive and Phase 2 becomes sluggish This creates:

The body knows which crosses you're still carrying...
For many women this Easter was a call for deep transformation.✨A time to leave behind the crosses they were still carrying, and to rise above all the suffering they were experiencing. Jesus’ journey represents our own humanity and provides a framework to help us face our challenges. 🍂 Fear of not being good enough 🍂 Being judged or misunderstood 🍂 Betrayal, especially by those we trust 🍂 Fear of Abandonment 🍂 Physical and emotional pain During these most challenging times, Jesus leaves us with a gift: unshakable faith He showed us how that even when pain and struggle come, we are still surrounded by love and help - a friend, a partner, a stranger, a teacher, a kind word, a new beginning.❤️ Because, as we carry our own crosses, we are never truly alone 🤍 When we fall, when we struggle, when life feels heavy, help is always near. Yet, at times we will be called to face our shadows. 🖤 The loneliness. 🖤 The darkness. 🖤 The waiting. Life may feel heavy. You may be feeling tired, lost, uncertain… Know that this is not the end, it’s your transformation. A rite of passage towards your most radiant life.
