My old pattern is multifaceted but I definitely believed I had to earn my parents love through performance in competition and school. I also thought I had to control every aspect of my life to feel safe. Thinking if I don't do everything then I'll be nothing. Not allowing myself to relax, feeling guilty for it.
I guess the biggest thing was when things start getting really good some part of me believes that I'm not good enough to have that and tries to create some new struggle to keep me from having it.
I took the Aaron AI quiz before, a few weeks ago, and, yeah, I definitely said that my biggest problem was receiving help and love from others and feeling that if I did that it was some sort of devaluation of myself or something because I guess I felt I had to earn that love, and if I didn't earn it, then I shouldn't be receiving anything from someone else. Probably why I also pushed away women in the past. I just didn't want them to get to know me well enough because I was afraid that if I fully opened up they might not accept me for who I am and reject me.
