I recently posted part of this video to our community's public Instagram channel, but there is more that I want to share with those of you joining Highly Beloved on Skool. What comes after the public-facing portion feels, in many ways, like the heart of why I created Highly Beloved. This summer has brought me into one of the deepest periods of learning I’ve ever had with Cannabis: moving from a long period of abstinence, back into relationship with her, through a stretch where that relationship became much more habitual than I intended, and eventually toward something I’ve been seeking for years — the ability to be with her deeply without needing to keep going back. I’m sharing this not as a prescription for how anyone else should work with Cannabis, but as a window into my own process of learning what discernment, space, restraint and integration can actually look like in relationship with this plant. Because I increasingly believe the question isn’t simply whether Cannabis is “good” or “bad” for us. The more interesting question is: What kind of relationship are we building with her? And perhaps even more importantly: Can we learn to receive what she gives us without continually asking her for more? 🌿
