What Cannabis Has Been Teaching Me
I recently posted part of this video to our community's public Instagram channel, but there is more that I want to share with those of you joining Highly Beloved on Skool. What comes after the public-facing portion feels, in many ways, like the heart of why I created Highly Beloved. This summer has brought me into one of the deepest periods of learning I’ve ever had with Cannabis: moving from a long period of abstinence, back into relationship with her, through a stretch where that relationship became much more habitual than I intended, and eventually toward something I’ve been seeking for years — the ability to be with her deeply without needing to keep going back. I’m sharing this not as a prescription for how anyone else should work with Cannabis, but as a window into my own process of learning what discernment, space, restraint and integration can actually look like in relationship with this plant. Because I increasingly believe the question isn’t simply whether Cannabis is “good” or “bad” for us. The more interesting question is: What kind of relationship are we building with her? And perhaps even more importantly: Can we learn to receive what she gives us without continually asking her for more? 🌿

A quick guide to our community discussions 🌿
When you post to our community boards, use one of these three labels to help organize our conversations and make it easier for others to find and join the discussions that speak to them. 🕯️ THE ALTAR — Sacred Relationship & Practice For exploring the ways we intentionally honor our relationship with Cannabis. Share the rituals, prayers, intentions, music, meditation, ceremony or other practices that help you approach communion with greater reverence and awareness. This is also a space to explore what it means to relate to Cannabis as a teacher, ally and sacred presence. 🥾 THE PATH — Navigating the Journey For the practical realities of walking in relationship with Cannabis. Ask questions and share experiences around frequency, boundaries, taking space, returning after a break, integration, discernment, dependency and finding the rhythms and practices that support right relationship. 🌿 THE HUB — Resources & Discoveries For sharing things you’ve encountered beyond our community that might be valuable to others: a great book, article, podcast, study, teacher, piece of music or other resource that has informed or inspired your relationship with Cannabis. And please don’t overthink it. Some conversations could easily belong in more than one place. Choose the label that feels closest to what you’re sharing. These categories aren’t here to put our conversations into boxes, just to help us find our way through them together.

Trailer: Interview with Medicine Man, Alex Stickler
FULL INTERVIEW IN THE CLASSROOM What changes when we stop relating to cannabis simply as a substance and begin approaching her as a conscious plant teacher? This conversation explores that question from many angles: intention, reciprocity, the light and shadow of cannabis, creating healthy boundaries and learning to recognize what the plant may be revealing beneath our habitual patterns. We also explore how a more conscious relationship can deepen not only cannabis’s healing potential, but her gifts of creativity, music, connection and joy. This trailer offers a glimpse into the full conversation, available to Highly Beloved paid members in the Classroom.

Creating a Personal Relationship with Space
One of the core explorations in our group is the concept of creating "space" in our relationship with Cannabis. Our group leader, Clark, talks more about this in this excerpt from the full length Cannabis mediation ceremony available in the Classroom.
