Backtrack playing

Found this backing track in YouTube and decided to give it a go. This is kinda interesting to me as it highlights a lot of the problems I have while improv. One of them is that I break the groove often making my improvisation to sound "awkward" and I kinda run of Ideas and end up repeating the same licks. I also decided to do some tapping. A technique that I never used but I wanted to give it a go as well

Today’s video is a song I’ve been working on for a long time. Initially I wasn’t going to post this as I’ve never posted myself playing this particular song before on any social media. Today I decided to play and video record. (Another discussion for a later time). The reason I was hesitant is that I’ve spent countless hours trying to slow my tempo down using a (nome), to the original recording of 108 BPM. I was taught this triple strum which by the way is the key signature of the song and distinctly recognizable in the music world. A song which I have learned to sing, play on guitar, along with vocals and strum timing. I’ve a ways to go but I’m starting to see it come to fruition. I’m making myself accountable to improving at the risk of embarrassment. I’m ok with that though.

Yesterday night’s rehearsal included the same song I posted earlier as I was singing in the choir video. I’m including the recording of last night’s rehearsal where there is no choir and now I’m playing rhythm guitar this Sunday. I have the freedom in my band to play my own rhythm style when I play.
