Simple Steps to Erase Fake Reviews, No Stress, No Drama
Ever had that sinking feeling when a 1-star review pops up, one you know is fake, but it’s from a so-called ‘Local Guide’ with a badge and all? - They’re counting on that badge to make their review stick. - Most people panic, reply, or try to explain themselves. - But here’s the twist! That’s exactly what you shouldn’t do! I’ve been there. A fake review landed on my page, complete with ‘Local Guide’ stars to make it look legit. I felt the urge to defend myself, to set the record straight. But instead, I did… nothing! Well, almost nothing. Here’s my exact method: 1. Don’t reply. Don’t give them attention. 2. Report the review. Just state what actually happened, no drama. 3. Walk away. No emails, no notifications. Just check back in a few days. Result? The review was gone in less than 12 hours. WHAT IF IT DOESN’T WORK? But what if you did reply? Or what if you’re still stuck with a bad review? Or maybe you just want more real, glowing feedback? Good news, I’ve made a full workshop that walks you through every step, plus how to get a steady flow of genuine 5-star reviews that actually help you rank. Simple Steps to Erase Fake Reviews, No Stress, No Drama
My 11 Icons, There power, then lets talk about yours
So every morning I make a coffee and open my laptop to get greeted by my Business Profile These are the 11 I seem to get as a regular basis 4 are important for rankings 3 have some impact on rankings 4 Have no ranking features So lets break them down, You don’t rank because you filled everything out… You rank because of what that creates — relevance, reviews, and real user actions. In Green The Direct, Strong Ranking Icons These impact prominence, relevance, or engagement signals: - Ask for reviews – Drives review volume, frequency, and keywords → one of the strongest local ranking factors. - Read reviews – Replying improves engagement + trust signals (indirect but meaningful). - Edit services – Helps Google understand what you do → improves keyword relevance. - Edit profile – Core NAP, categories, and description → foundational for ranking accuracy. In Orange, the Indirect or Moderate Impacts These don’t directly “boost rankings” but improve behavioural signals (CTR, conversions, dwell time): - Photos – More clicks and engagement → improves user interaction signals. - Posts – Keeps profile active, can influence CTR slightly (freshness signal is weak but real). - Edit products – Adds relevance for product-based queries, but limited for most service businesses. In Red, Minimal or even No Ranking Impact These are operational or paid features—not ranking factors: - Performance – Reporting only, no impact. - Advertise – Paid traffic, completely separate from organic rankings. - Bookings – Convenience feature, no ranking weight. - Profiles – Admin/settings, no ranking influence. So the takeaway form this, is most people: - Spend time on Posts, Photos, Products But you should focus on: - Reviews + Services + Core Profile You will have other icons, add them and i will tell you if they are Red Green or Orange

Google says : Review replies produce customers
65% of consumers say they are more likely to choose a business that responds to reviews. A report from the Google Business Profile (GBP) playbooks says responding professionally to all reviews - positive AND negative - shows searchers you care about your customers and the quality of your products/services. So its well worth making sure every review has a clear response.

Getting regular reviews
It can be tricky. Here are some ideas to regularly get new reviews. Some are a little sneaky so beware! 1. Encourage satisfied customers to leave reviews by incorporating the URL into follow-up emails and thank-you messages upon project completion, making it easy for them to provide feedback. 2. Additionally, display the QR code prominently on business cards, at your office's front desk, and within any printed materials or promotional merchandise distributed during client meetings or networking events. 3. You could also integrate the QR code into the footer of your website and digital invoices, ensuring clients encounter it often. 4. Lastly, but this is a little bit too close to the guidelines for my full recommendation. Offer a small incentive, such as a discount on future services or entry into a prize draw, to motivate clients to take a minute to share their positive experiences.

Do You Believe Any Of These 7 Google Business Profiles Myths?
So there are still some guides and videos out there teaching tips that are just outright wrong. Here’s the reality no one tells you: the game changes constantly. What worked last year could be killing your visibility today. And if you’ve ever thought, “Maybe these tips just don’t work for me,” that’s not true. It’s because most of what’s out there is built on myths and old advice. So, let’s get some myths ironed out so you can get ranking and stop wasting time so you can start doing what actually works, just in case.... Myth 1: "Hours arent importan" Some assume your Google Business Profile opening hours arent important. Truth: You are 10 times more likely to rank when your open, so if you close Saturday and competition is open, guess who gets those customers?. Myth 2: "Ranking Is All About GBP Settings" People think optimizing their profile alone will get them to the top. Truth: External factors, like backlinks, your website, and local SEO, heavily influence rankings. Building brand authority is a much bigger factor. Myth 3: "Keywords in Business Name = Guaranteed Rankings" Many people think stuffing keywords into their business name will boost rankings. Truth: Google penalizes fake business names. It’s better to focus on accurate details and optimizing other profile areas. It may get you a quick boost - but you will have no business for the future. Myth 4: "Images Don't Impact SEO "Many ignore the importance of high-quality images. Truth: Images speak a thousand words and Google understands images. So do use images but stop worrying about geolocation data. its generally ignored now and doesn't improve visibility and rankings. Myth 5: "Set It and Forget It "Some assume that once you’ve filled out your Google Business Profile, the work is done. Truth: Regular updates, posts, and reviews signal activity to Google, which helps rankings. Myth 6: "Just Having Reviews Is Enough" People think more reviews = better ranking. Truth: While reviews help, it’s the quality, relevance, and responses to those reviews that make a difference along with many other factors.
