Strong finish to the league campaign

Great way to finish the league campaign with a 4–0 win against the team sitting 3rd in the table. They beat us comfortably in the first round, so it was nice to return the favour this time.

Overall, a really strong performance from the team from start to finish. We were clinical with our chances and could have even scored a few more.

From my side, I’d say it was probably my best game of the season—and with a clean sheet. You know those matches where you keep a clean sheet all game and then concede late, leaving you with that slightly frustrating feeling despite winning? Well, today wasn’t one of those.

They did test me a few times with some good shots, but I managed to deal with them with good saves. Also had a couple of high claims (not usually my strongest point, as you know), and I was quite involved in distribution—playing out from the back and even taking on a striker once.

Really happy with my performance today.

During the game I got a few nice reactions from teammates and people watching after some saves, and at the end, apart from my teammates congratulating me, a few players from the opposition came over as well to say well done. As you all know… that’s a great feeling for a goalkeeper.

Now the league is done and next week the cup competition starts—and funnily enough, we’ve been drawn in the same group as this team again. So I’m expecting a tough game… they’ll definitely be looking for revenge.
