How much does size matter?

So, in our game yesterday, one of the opposition players was overheard calling our GK a "midget".

This isn't the first time, and to be honest, we've learned to take it as a compliment, because we only here it when he's frustrating players who can't score past him 😂 (he got POM for us yesterday)

We're an u10s team, and our GK is playing up a year, but, he is small for his age anyway.

That aside, he's got everything you could ask for in a GK.

Absolutely fearless.

Amazing mentality, so positive, never lets his head drop.

Great reflexes.

Really agile.

Highly coachable.

He's only 8, so there is still plenty of time for a growth spurt (we're not worried about that), but, in future, if he doesn't shoot up a bit, how do you think it could affect his opportunities of progressing and being picked up by better teams?
