Another win for my son’s team this weekend

Apart from a couple of actions coming out for loose balls, and from what's coming next in this post, Lizer didn’t have much to do for most of the match. With about 10 minutes to go we were 0–3 up and it finally looked like that clean sheet was coming…

But football being football, it didn’t happen 😅

We conceded from a poorly defended corner. Lizer told me after the match, that he asked one of the defenders to step out and block a possible near-post cross, but he didn’t do it, and of course the ball went exactly there and ended up as an easy finish.

Then shortly after, a bouncing ball from outside the box turned into a high shot that went in. He didn’t even try to reach it because it was too high — although I keep telling him to go for everything anyway… one day he’ll get one of those! (especially with F7 goals being smaller).

In the end we were even a bit under pressure and “asking for the final whistle”, despite missing some absolute sitters ourselves.

Still, another win and more experience for him — and a good reminder that games are never over until the final whistle.
