4-1 loss in first 90 in almost 10 months
So My first full 90 minute game in almost 10 months plus and yea lost 4-1 but positives, could easily have been 2-3 times that scoreline.
A loss always hurts, and I do always self criticise. But having been out for so long didn’t have the camera today wanted just to let the game happen.
The opposition the local Hospitals team were well drilled and I was left with the far busier goal mouth for both half’s.
So for me it was a proper prove my worth to myself and getting my mindset right after having a team telling me I should have retired and didn’t want to take me out of retirement (took a bit to build me back up I won’t lie)
But a couple of good reflex saves in a first half that saw us go in 3-0 down gave me some confidence even nearly saving the 3rd that I was blind to. Second half even more improvement until a shot deflected off my Defenders studs and spun the opposite way from me and under my recovering dive.
But finishing off with a 2 finger top bins save gives me confidence to still be able to do more than just coaching at 46 and I just need more game time to stop being a touch rusty
On to next week where I know it is only 45 mins but still able to do a job
