Today I want to talk about something very real and often ignored "being unwell" ๐ค
I know a lot of people are struggling with it and I am also dealing with a sore throat, fever, really bad body ache and flu. Intead of pushing through my routine, I chose to pause. Not because Iโm lazy or inconsistent but because my body needs healing and pause. โจ
As a dietitian and a health coach, I want to remind you that when your body is fighting an infection, it is already working hard. Fever, fatigue, body aches, these are not weaknesses, they are signs that your immune system is doing its job. During this time, forcing workouts, under-eating or following rigid plans can actually delay recovery.
Hereโs what matters most during illness:
Hydration: warm fluids, water, soups, herbal teasโ
Nourishment: simple, easy-to-digest meals instead of restriction๐ฒ
Rest: quality sleep and reduced physical stress๐๐ป
Listening to your body: skipping workouts is not failure, itโs wisdom๐ง
Many people feel guilty for resting. Weโve been conditioned to believe that discipline means pushing through discomfort. But real discipline is knowing when to slow down and allow healing.
Remember, progress is not lost in a few rest days. In fact, honoring your body during sickness helps you come back stronger, more balanced and more consistent.
If youโre feeling under the weather, please be gentle with yourself. Your health journey is not a straight line and recovery days are part of the process, not a detour.
Take care of yourselves ๐ฉท
Health always comes first.
